My parents bought me my first bike; it was a “chopper” (big wheel at the rear end and a small one in the front). In the 80’s, the East Coast Park was one of the rare locations ‘safe’ and suitable for young Mervyn to cycle. I wondered why bikes with bigger wheels always zip by me effortlessly. Years later when I got my first Bridgestone bike, I felt the wind in my face. I felt like superman … faster than a speeding bullet (it was definitely not headwind). The sensation was exhilarating.

I never turned back since then.

In return I would like to transfer the knowledge and experience to other aspiring atheletes.
